Prerequisites: PHYS 252 and MATH 225, or permission of instructor. Temperature and the laws of thermodynamics. Introductory treatments of kinetic theory and statistical mechanics; applications of Boltzmann, Bose-Einstein, and Fermi-Dirac distributions.
